¹⁶ and Shemaiah’s son Obadiah, who was the grandson of Galal, who was fathered by Jeduthun, and Asa’s son Berechiah, who was the grandson of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

¹⁷ The gatekeepers included^[a] Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and other^[b] relatives. Shallum was the leader. ¹⁸ He used to be stationed in the King’s Gate on the east side as one of^[c] the gatekeepers of the camp belonging to the descendants of Levi.
